A Great Teacher's Tool Box---The Conference on Illinois History
By attending The Conference on Illinois History
you can accomplish at least two very important things. One,
you can attend a session for teachers interested in an aspect
of Illinois. The session this year was given by Professor
Gerald Danzer, a specialist in the history of maps, about
using historical Illinois maps in the classroom. Each year
the teacher's session is different. Two, you can earn a C.P.D.U.
for that teacher session but--in addition--earn a C.P.D.U.
for each of the other sessions you attend at the Conference
on Illinois. If you want to broaden your knowledge of our
state's history and/or ready yourself for teaching Illinois
history, you will find the Conference is a good place to do
that. The other sessions cover all aspects of our state's
past, for example, labor history, women's history, and constitutional
history. And, third, the big bonus is a chance to interact
with other teachers, learn what and how they are teaching
their students, and rejuvenate your creativity. You can return
to your classrooms with a new set of teaching tools. Think
about attending.
